What a wonderful 2023 season we have had thanks to volunteers from seven organizations on the Western Slope!
Thank you to volunteers at Colorado Canyons Association, RiversEdge West, Colorado West Land Trust, Colorado National Monument Association, Grand Valley Audubon, Eureka McConnell Science Museum, and Great Old Broads for Wilderness.
With your help we were able to accomplish over 84 stewardship projects across the Western Slope. This includes over 850 volunteers, and over 3,665 volunteer hours.
Some of our favorite projects reflecting back on 2023 are:
Monument Stewards (in their 4th season this year) native seeding project at the Lunch Loops area
Gunnison Sage Grouse Lop & Scatter in Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area
Invasive plant removal and native planting projects with RiversEdge West volunteers at Connected Lakes State Park and Las Colonias Park.
Wildlife fence removal projects
River cleanups on both the Gunnison River and the Colorado River through Dominguez-Escalante NCA & McInnis Canyons NCA
Many more!!
Stay tuned for moreupdates on our 2024 opportunities to volunteer on the Western Slope!
