About the event

Join David Varner, with Colorado West Land Trust to learn how to successfully cut and re-plant willow poles.

CWLT has aided in the restoration of willows along No Thoroughfare Wash, to provide habitat and assist with sediment stabilization. Working with the Grand Valley Audubon members, CWLT has worked to remove more invasive vegetation and restore native vegetation. CWLT has harvested poles from nearby willow stands, including from the Audubon Preserve, to install along the Wash with volunteers, students, and the Mesa County Trail Crew.

Date: Wednesday, May 1st , 8-11am.

Location: Meet at Lunch Loop Trailhead, then we’ll drive down Monument Road to locations for plantings along No Throughfare Wash.
