About the event
On Saturday, April 20th, we are kicking off National Volunteer Week early with a Trail Stewardship Day! With Earth Day in mind, we want to raise awareness about the importance of responsible recreation as well as fossil stewardship. The Grand Valley is home to beautiful, sensitive ecosystems and important paleontological resources. For the education and enjoyment of all, it is our duty to protect these spaces for future generations.
At Trail Stewardship Day, we will give a brief orientation of the Museums of Western Colorado, hike the Riggs Hill Interpretive Trail, clean and maintain the trail, and discuss our Site Stewardship Program. If you enjoy the outdoors and are interested in volunteering outside of business hours, this program may be for you!
