Every year, volunteers come together around National Public Lands Day to help steward public lands in their backyard. Join CCA and Visit With Respect on September 28th for a cultural stewardship hike of McDonald Creek in McInnis Canyons NCA and learn about preserving cultural sites on public land!

About the event

When: Saturday, September 28th; 10AM - 2 PM

Where: McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area; McDonald Creek Trail

What: Join us in celebrating National Public Lands Day with a cultural stewardship hike in MCNCA.  We will spend the afternoon hiking the McDonald Creek Trail (Approx. 3.5 miles) observing and discussing how to be better stewards of cultural resources found in our NCA’s and beyond.

We will be joined by special guest, Semira Crank, Program Director of Visit With Respect, to discuss the VWR principals and how it can be applied to cultural sites in this special place.

What to bring: Sturdy hiking boots/shoes, layers for hiking, sunscreen, water, light lunch or snacks, whatever else you need for an afternoon outside.
